Multiplizität, Polyphonie und allgemeine Ratlosigkeit ― besonders in ökologischen Fragen ―
sind der thematische Hintergrund dieser Arbeit. Das Motiv des Wellensittichs steht dabei
für die Schwarmexistenz, für Mitläufertum und ― verantwortung. Diesem gegenüber stelle Ich den Oktopus:
er ist intelligent, lebt eremitisch und: ziemlich kurz!
In drei sich abwechselnden Rollen werden Texte vorgetragen: Oktopoden treffen auf
Paradiesmythen, der Neurologe David Eagleman erkärt unsere Gehirnfunktionen, dystopische
Si-Fi-Fragmente tauchen aus der Tiefsee auf ― um am Ende beim Wellensittich zu landen.
Ich interagiere dabei mit einer Trickfilm- und einer Soundebene.
Für die letzte Szene hat die Medienkünstlerin Vera Sebert einen Algorithmus geschrieben,
Wörter aus dem Performancetext werden per Zufallsgenerator ausgewählt, animiert und mit dem
Trickfilm "Der Tanz der Dinge" vermischt.

Multiplicity, polyphony and general perplexity―especially in ecological questions―are the
thematic background of this work.
The motif of the budgerigar stands for swarm behaviour, for followerism and co-responsibility.
Opposite to this I put the octopus: he is intelligent, lives eremitically and: quite short!
Texts are read in three alternating roles: Octopods meet paradise myths, the neurologist David Eagleman explains our brain functions, dystopian Si-Fi fragments emerge from the deep sea―to end up with the budgerigar.
