Im Auftrag des Museums Alpinarium Galtür arbeitete ich drei Wochen lang in einem Zeltlager
im Jamtal auf ca. 2.100 Metern Seehöhe. Ich hatte für diesen Aufenthalt die ruhige in
dieser Höhe noch winterliche Schließzeit der nahe gelegenen Hütte gewählt.
Die Bergrettung Galtür trug meine Ausrüstung zu Fuß bis zum Lagerplatz. Aufgrund eines ungewöhnlichen
Wintereinbruchs in diesem Jahr waren zwei Anläufe nötig, bevor ich die Arbeit erfolgreich abschließen konnte.
Als Hauptarbeit malte ich ein dokumentarisches Landschaftsbild im Format 155 x 180 cm.
Das Bild, Studien, Texte und Videos sind gemeinsam mit einer später entstandenen Tonarbeit
unter dem Projekttitel "Die blaue Silvretta" seit Jänner 2014 permanent im Museum Alpinarium in Galtür zu sehen.
I was commissioned by the Museum Alpinarium Galtür to work for a total of three weeks
in a camp in the Jamtal at a height of approx. 2,100 metres above sea level. For this stay,
I had chosen the quiet―at this height still winterly―closing period of the nearby
mountain hut. The Galtür mountain rescue team carried my equipment up to the camp site on foot.
Due to an unusual onset of wintery weather that year, two attempts were necessary before I
could complete the work successfully.
As my main piece of work, I painted a documentary landscape image in the format 155 x 180 cm. The painting, studies, texts and videos, together with a sound work produced later, have been on permanent display under the project title "Die blaue Silvretta" in the Museum Alpinarium in Galtür since January 2014.
