In der Ausstellung wurde eine Auswahl von Arbeiten aus dem Zyklus "Voodoo Raga"
mit neuen Arbeiten kombiniert und durch eine Performance erweitert.
Auszug aus dem Ausstellungstext:
... Diesen ernsthaft-realen Beobachtungen stellt Peters Malereien in Form von
wandteppichartigen Rollbildern zur Seite, auf welchen sie die gesellschaftlichen
Spannungen fiktiv und ironisch ins Dystopische oder Utopische übersteigert.
Auf diese Weise wirbelt die Künstlerin unser Blasendenken durcheinander, und sie
absurdisiert damit in diesem Werkzyklus das längst nicht mehr nur neoliberale Dogma:
„Jeder ist seines Glückes Schmied“.
Denn wie viel Entscheidungsfreiheit haben wir tatsächlich, bedenkt man die Voraussetzungen
durch Geburt und damit dem vorgefundenen gesellschaftlichen und kulturellen Kontext, oder
bedenkt man individuelle Schicksalsschläge und politische Strömungen, welche unsere
„Freiheit“ beschränken. Peters nennt diese Begrenzungen Laufleine — für deren maximale
Dehnung sie zwar vehement plädiert, jedoch zugleich in ihrer Eröffnungsperformance im
Finale hinzufügt:

Die installativen Objekte wurden erst im Zuge der
Eröffnungs-Performance in die Ausstellung eingefügt.
The installation objects were added to the exhibition in the course of the opening performance.
In the exhibition a selection of works from the cycle "Voodoo Raga" was
combined with new works and extended by a performance.

... Peters juxtaposes these seriously real observations with paintings in the
form of tapestry-like scroll pictures, in which she fictitiously and ironically
exaggerates the social tensions into the dystopian or utopian. In this way the
artist swirls our thought bubble around, and in this cycle of works she thus
absurdizes the dogma that has long since ceased to be merely neoliberal:
"Everyone is the architect of his own fortune".
For how much freedom of choice do we actually have, considering the preconditions by birth and thus the found social and cultural context, or considering individual strokes of fate and political currents, which limit our "freedom". Peters calls these limitations running leashes—for the maximum stretching of which she vehemently pleads, but at the same time adds in her opening performance in the finale: "... but don't bite it off!". ...

In der Performance spielte ich abwechselnd drei Rollen: den Voodoo-Freak, die Bürgerin
und die Intellektuelle. Ich las von Klappbildern, von Textstreifen
und aus einem kleinen Büchlein.
Alle Kostüme und die als Reqisiten eingesetzten Kunstwerke wurden von mir hergestellt und
gestaltet. Auch die vorgetragenen Texte stammen selbstverständlich von mir.

In the performance I played three roles in turn: the voodoo freak, the female citizen,
and the intellectual. I read from folding pictures, from text strips and from a small booklet.
All the costumes and the artworks that served as props were made and designed by me. I also wrote the texts that were read aloud.
